The “Backyard Sessions” took place earlier this summer when Miley brought her band together to perform some of her favorite songs.  The first song, “Lilac Wine” was written by James Shelton.

You heard right. America’s controversial sweetheart, Miley is performing Billy Idol‘s “Rebel Yell” at this year’s VH1 DIVAS. We sneaked a peek at her closed rehearsal set, and it’s going to be wild. One word: cages. That is all.
Now, when the song and music video for the track that made British punk rocker Billy an MTV icon dropped in 1984, the future Mrs. Liam Hemsworth was like negative nine years old. But generation gap be damned, the similarities between the two stars is kind of hard to ignore. Here are five reasons Miley is the perfect choice to cover this tune:

#1 The Hair:

The spiky platinum blonde coif Miley’s sporting is looking a little familiar. I wouldn’t bat an eyelash if she suddenly revealed she’s actually Billy Idol’s estranged daughter. When she first went blonde and sheared her signature brown tresses over the summer, people were critical of her P!nk-like pixie. So Miley did what any rebel would do. She went and shortened it more, more, more.

#2 The Punk Style:

Miley is definitely embracing her punk side and loving it. You can’t  rock edgy hair without edgy clothes. Just last week at DJ Borgore’s ‘Christmas Creampies’ concert Miley wore tight leather pants, a cutout bra top and leopard-print boots as she shimmed alongside topless dancers. So, not so much the strippers, but everyone knows Billy Idol’s spiked and studded leather jackets with tight pants are punk fashion 101.

#3 The Vocal Rasp:

There’s no doubt Billy Idol created his own signature style with that unmistakable snarl. Well, Miley has her own amazingly raspy trademark growl that has served her well in distinguishing her voice above the rest of the pop world din out there (and made her fun to impersonate). And if last night’s rehearsal was any indication, she’s sure to do the original “Rebel Yell” justice.

#4 The Rebellious Attitude:

Behind Billy Idol’s success is a combination of zero f***s given and raw sex appeal. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see Miley has the same thing going for her and it keeps us fascinated. From motorbike accidents to sudden engagements, these two just do what they want. It’s a lifestyle. Don’t hate.

#5 Their Stage Names Rhyme:

The artist formerly known as Destiny Hope switched over to Miley Cyrus officially a few years back when her career skyrocketed as a teen. She assumed her new license credentials by dropping the “s” off her nickname Smiley. Billy Idol was born William Michael Albert Broad, but shortened it to Billy and took his surname alias from a schoolteacher’s description of him as “idle” as a boy.

The 20-year-old singer tweeted a picture of herself with her dogs, writing: 'This is just what mommy needed. These precious babies still here on earth are just what the doctor ordered. #pupsheal.'

In another shot, Miley is seen cuddling her dog Mary Jane close, while closing her eyes and enjoying the moment.
The So Undercover star's bleached blonde crop is slicked back, and Miley appears to be wearing a striped T-shirt and beaded necklace.
Miley also tweeted that Mary Jane was trying to climb onto her lap, writing: 'Mary Jane is trying to sit on my lap the way Lil Lila used to. It's workin out a lil differently. #feelsgoodtosmile.'

But it seems Miley's positive attitude was short-lived, as she then tweeted later on: 'Don't know how much more I can take.'
The picture comes just days after Miley tweeted about the passing of her beloved two-year-old Lila.
She had written: 'For everyone asking... I have never been so hurt in my life. My heart has never been so broken..... Lila my sweet baby girl has passed away.'

Miley Cyrus is in mourning.

The singer tweeted to fans earlier today (Dec. 11) that her beloved 2-year-old Yorkie Mix, Lila, sadly passed away.

In a series of tweets, Mi broke the news to fans, saying, "can't think of one good reason to get out of bed today ... for everyone asking ... I have never been so hurt in my life. My heart has never been so broken ..... Lila my sweet baby girl has passed away ... Broken. Gonna go MIA for a bit. Need some healing time. Thank you to everyone who has sent love my way. I need it."

According to E!, the dog was hospitalized two months ago, but Miley gave no reason for Lila's death as of yet. Back in February, Miley clearly showed her unconditional love for her furry friend. "Why would I need human friends? dude, Lila will ALWAYS love me & that's more than we can say about most humans," she tweeted.

Miley, a huge dog-lover, still has other pooches to take care of -- including Ziggy, Floyd, Happy, Mary Jane and Penny Lane. In fact, it was just reported that the her dogs are so important to her, they were put in her prenup agreement that she has with fiance Liam Hemsworth.

The 19-year-old entertainer plans to marry “Hunger Games” star Liam Hemsworth. They announced their engagement in June but haven’t revealed their wedding date.
“I am married in my heart and my mind. I do everything that I would be if I had the paper, but I want to take the time to actually enjoy it,” Cyrus said.

“My most important thing right now is … I want people to hear what I want to say and get my record out, so when there is a time that I can take some time off, I’ll feel like I accomplished my stuff,” she said. “Then I can take a break and just enjoy being married for a little while.”

So until then, Cyrus is busy working, promoting her film “So Undercover,” due in February, and wrapping up her album, though no title or release date have been announced.

Cyrus says she doesn’t stray too far from her country roots on the new record, but the songs are more hip-hop inspired.

“A lot of the beats are produced hip-hop beats,” she said, “but the vocal is very raw and my voice is kind of on top of all the tracks, which is what I wanted.”

Cyrus said she is working with producer Pharrell Williams and “a lot of hip-hop producers that are actually from the South, because I wanted more of that dirty-South vibe, a little ATL in there.”

While she loves performing on camera, music matters most to Cyrus.

“I want people to remember me for things that are great,” she said “Much bigger than the comedies that I do, but more about the music that I write and the songs that you leave for the world to think about.”

When she’s not guest starring on “Two and a Half Men,” or planning her wedding to Liam Hemsworth, Miley Cyrus is recording her fourth studio album.
“It’s a really different sound,” she told CNN while promoting her new flick, “So Undercover.” “Not only just for me, but I think it’s something that radio needs right now.”

The “Can’t Be Tamed” singer hasn’t yet announced a release date for her upcoming album, but she did give listeners a clue about what they can expect to hear: “Dirty South hip-hop music.”

Cyrus worked with artists like Pharrell, Tyler the Creator and Mac Miller to blend hip-hop and country, which she called “my two favorite styles of music.”

“[P]eople don’t think [hip-hop and country] make a good hybrid, but actually, so many hip-hop artists are really inspired by country musicians – especially a lot of the artists I’ve been working with in Atlanta,” she said.

Adele is another artist who Cyrus said she’s inspired by, adding, “There’s no one out there now where it’s about their voice being on top of the track. Everything out there right now is about the track.”

[Video] Miley Cyrus Has Her Cake And Wears It Too In "Decisions" Video

For anyone wondering what a night on the town with Miley Cyrus might look like, the video for her track with EDM producer Borgore, “Decisions,” offers up a slightly naughty sneak peek.

The clip follows Cyrus, along with fiancé Liam Hemsworth, adult-film star Jessie Andrews and Borgore as they hit up a cake-filled party somewhere in L.A. Borgore makes his way to the bash on bicycle, towing a giant cake on the back of his ride. When he arrives, the DJ’s real-life former flame Andrews gets pushed by a little person, a member of Borgore’s crew. It’s truly just a tease to the antics set to go down inside the fete.

Inside, located behind a wall of books, the producer is greeted by foxy ladies who toss flirty glances and kisses his way. As the song frequently references cake, Borgore raps in front of a few featuring the likes of folks like Steve Aoki, Skrillex, a bosomy topless woman and President Clinton. About two minutes and 25 seconds into the video, fans might be wondering where Ms. Cyrus is hiding. Well, at that very moment, she pops out of a cake, smiling and ready to dance.

For the remainder of the video, Miley, rocking all black and her now-signature short ‘do, bounces around with Borgore and the rest of the partygoers, and ends up making out with Hemsworth, who wears a unicorn mask.


As the video nears its finish, she’s smothered in the sugary, frosted dessert and throwing it around during a good old-fashioned food fight. Post-party, Miley (now in a white, full-length party dress that looks a bit like cake obviously) and Borgore sit outside on his bike, watching the sun come up. Her makeup now running down her face, he rides them away.

Miley has certainly been taking steps to put her “Hannah Montana” days behind her. It’s a move that co-star Andrews completely understands. “I understand where she’s coming from, trying to break away from that,” she told MTV News on Wednesday, ahead of the video’s premiere. “She doesn’t want to be Hannah Montana anymore; she wants to be her own person. … The way she’s dressing, the hair, the music — everything is outside of the box. It didn’t really surprise me.”

[News] Miley To Be Back On Two And A Half Men

Two and a Half Men welcomed singer/actress Miley Cyrus to the show a couple weeks ago and it looks like they liked her so much that they are bringing her back for more.

EW’s Inside TV reports that the former Miss Hannah Montana boosted ratings so much during her first visit that it’s probably a sure bet that everyone is hoping that she’ll bring that magic back again. Cyrus is set to return in an episode that is due to air on November 8, when her character will apparently have another romantic rendezvous with Jake (Angus T. Jones).

Cyrus was first introduced in episode 10.4 of the series called “You Do Know What the Lollipop’s For.” Her character, Missi, is the daughter of Walden’s (Ashton Kutcher) old friend and ended up taking a liking to Alan’s son Jake during a visit.

Considering what happened the first time Missi came to town, I’m guessing that there are bound to be some sparks between Missi and Jake when Cyrus returns to the show in November. The only question will be if those sparks will turn into something more permanent. Is it possible that Cyrus could end up on the show on a more permanent basis? Or if not permanently, then maybe in a recurring guest role?

Anything’s possible at this point, but one thing’s for sure: Cyrus’ visit to the show was a lot of fun last time so I’m sure it will be just as fun the second time. As to whether or not that means she’ll be back again, only time will tell. Though if the series sees another boost in ratings like it did last time, I’d be surprised if TPTB didn’t bring her back again for another round.

‎[NEWS] 'Two And A Half Men' Review: How Did Miley Cyrus Do?

We weren’t quite sure that we would like Miley Cyrus upon first hearing that she was cast for a guest arc on “Two and a Half Men,” but we have to admit that we were wrong after watching the episode Thursday night. Why? Not only was she funny, but she really blended into the charter she was playing so much that she was not even that recognizable as Miley Cyrus.

Basically, the former “Hannah Montana” star played the part here of Missi (short for Mississippi, the river and not the state!), a high-strung and talkative young woman who also happened to be the daughter of one of Walden’s closest friends. From the get-go, it looked as though Ashton Kutcher’s character had an interest in her even despite her talking a million miles an hour, but there was a problem. What was it? Basically, she thought he was too old and perfect for her mom; plus, she was completely and totally into Jake.

What made Cyrus work so well in this part was that she was completely committed, even to a character that was inherently annoying and would never have much of a shot at winning over many people who just don’t like talkative southern belles. But ultimately, she did infuse just enough heart into Missi that even if she never shut up, she was someone you were still interested in and wanting to know more about … at least until she broke Jake’s heart in the end by saying that she may be getting back with an ex-boyfriend. This was a nice way to end her story for now since it does not necessarily guarantee a future return, but we’re sure that we will see Missi turn up at least one more time before this is all said and done.

What we really learned from this episode was rather simple, and it doesn’t have much to do with Walden or Alan; rather, we were reminded yet again that Miley is at her best in a studio in front of a live audience, and she would do rather well on an adult sitcom in a full-time role if the writing was good enough. If she could that as well as singing, then that really would be the best of both worlds.

[NEWS] Miley Cyrus' Bizarre 22-Minute Monologue, Tops Season Ratings!

Many wondered how Two and a Half Men would be able to top its ninth season, a run of episodes that featured the inclusion of Ashton Kutcher and even weirder plot lines than ever before. (Alan suffering a fever dream while institutionalized in a mental hospital might rank as one of the most deranged TV episodes of all time.) Th

e answer is now clear: Miley Cyrus.

Last night’s “You Know What the Lollipop Is For” put the young, tabloid-friendly starlet in the spotlight, pushing the entire cast (Kutcher included) into the background while her character, Missi, yammered for 22-straight minutes. The southern belle, a family friend of Walden’s who arrives at his doorstep for an Los Angeles vacation, was something to behold. She never stopped talking. In the beginning, that was the joke — “Oh man, does this girl ever stop talking?!” By the closing credits, it became a monologue that would impress even Spalding Grey. No one could get a word in, the episode solely riding on Missi’s stream-of-consciousness rambling to push the random action forward.

Impressively, Cyrus was up to the task. She spouted signature Two and a Half Men off-color remarks with cacophonous twang like she was in a David Mamet play (or as Berta puts it, the result of what happens when “people have unprotected sex with hummingbirds”). Horrifying, but impressive. The all-grown-up child star didn’t back down from entering the raunchy territory of the show. Here are the highlights from this madcap comedy maelstrom:



“…Have you ever been to the Caribbean? I went once three years ago for Spring break and got stung by a jellyfish once. My friend had to pee on my leg.”
Cyrus’ arrival kicks off the nonstop chatter, with Missi segueing from nonsensical discussion point to nonsensical discussion point with the sentence structure of Faulkner. Two and a Half Men is known for its out-of-nowhere inappropriate metaphors, but in this opening scene, it’s less about whatever the heck Cyrus is actually saying and all about how she is saying it. Last year, Two and a Half Men had an episode entirely devoted to vomiting. This year, they have one devoted to word vomiting.

“You gay for each other or something? I have a gay friend. His name is Russell. I got him to make out with me once but it didn’t take.”
It wouldn’t be Two and a Half Men without an insinuation that Walden and Alan are a gay couple! Cyrus fulfills her civil sitcom duties with her own character spin, stretching out the inquiry with the awkward tale of her attempt to convert a gay man into a kissing partner. Wasn’t that the plot to an episode of Hannah Montana?

“Don’t forget to rub-a-dub-dub! Would you mind if I took the girls out? Get a little color on Kim and Khloe?”
Everyone was in a tizzy when the first photos of Cyrus surfaced for this episode. Scantily clad and provocative, most assumed the actress would be wooing Mr. Kutcher. Not the case — but that doesn’t mean she wasn’t ready to play up the sex angle. In the same scene, Missi makes a crack about (and juggles) her breasts, sending Walden into an uncomfortable tizzy. If the audience is able to take a breath in between Cyrus’ strings of dialogue, the moment may actually be a little disturbing.

“This is a nice bed. I bet you could do some serious drilling on a workbench like this.”
Walden and Missi’s sexual tension hits new heights when the ingenue, dressed in a revealing nighty, tiptoes into Walden’s bedroom. Luckily, thanks to Missi’s complete lack of filter, Walden never has a chance to make a wrong move with his friend’s daughter. Missi suggests Walden actually get with her Mom (who has been recently surgically enhanced).

“I sort of have a boyfriend. Technically, we broke up because I was tired of him putting his career ahead of me. He’s a doctor. Not a real doctor. A glass doctor. Like if you have a crack in your windshield, he’ll come and fix it.”
Missi jumps from character to character, feeding on their souls with her anecdotal assault. With Walden and Alan out of the picture, the show wisely finds a way to bring Jake back from the army (coincidentally, he had the weekend off!) so it can pair the two young lovebirds. Jake is a moron. Missi is a self-obsessed monologist. It’s a match made in heaven… until Missi confesses she might have another man in her life.

Will Miley be sticking around for good? The episode concludes with Jake returning to his military career, Walden declining Missi’s offer to date her mom, and Missi heading upstairs. Little was actually accomplished — meaning Missi’s stay may be a longer arc, and the one-woman show may only be in its beginning stages.

[NEWS] Miley Cyrus Drives 'Two And A Half Men' To Season High!

In the spring of 2008, then-perennial bubble CBS comedy, How I Met Your Mother, got Britney Spears as a guest star. The episode shot up to series highs and fostered a turnaround for the series, which turned from an underperforming darling to a hit almost overnight. Four and a half years later, CBS this fall made a scheduling move tha

t raised a lot of eyebrows — relocating long-time Monday anchor Two And A Half Men to Thursday. The veteran has struggled in its new environment, even falling below the delivery of utility player Rules Of Engagement in the slot at one point. Until last night, when the show featured another big teen draw — Miley Cyrus. With her, Two And A Half Men jumped 14% from last week to a 4.0/11 among adults 18-49, hitting season highs in adults 18-49, total viewers (13.6 million) and adults 25-54. Two And A Half Men already got a second lease on life with the introduction of new leading man Ashton Kutcher last season. Could Miley Cyrus’ appearance be a “Britney” moment for the veteran comedy that would help it age more gracefully in its new Thursday slot? The good news for Men is that Cyrus has already been booked for another episode, and given the ratings, she may be asked to do more. Unlike Spears, Cyrus is a sitcom pro having started off on the Disney Channel hit Hannah Montana.

Even with the .5 rating bump, Men couldn’t come close to its lead-in, The Big Bang Theory (4.7/5), which was up a tenth from last week and topped Thursday night in 18-49 and total viewers (15.4 million). Big Bang and Men‘s ratings gains did not carry over to 9 PM where Person Of Interest (2.8/7), was down 7% from its last original two weeks ago. (The 9-11 programming on the Big 4 was pre-empted for the Vice President debate last Thursday.) Elementary (2.3/6) was down too, by 8%.

‎[NEWS] Miley Cyrus Turns Down The X Factor USA

Miley Cyrus turned down the opportunity to join The X Factor USA judging panel as she did not want to be a “dream crusher”.

The 19-year-old singer was approached by Simon Cowell's team about joining the talent show, but turned the music mogul’s offer down as she didn't think she would be able to criticize the contestants, even if they sounded like “nails on a chalkboard”.

She said: ”I just don’t know if I want to be some dream crusher.

”Would you really want to sit there as someone is belting their heart out – even if it is like hearing nails on a chalkboard – and then say to them, ‘You suck?’ ”

Miley admits she was ”scared” of being too critical to a young wannabe which could land her with a reputation for being ”harsh”.

She said: ”I have no filter, so I would be scared I would say something and they would go home and say, ‘Miley Cyrus ruined my dreams’. It seems harsh.”

Miley Cyrus appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno some days ago, and as well as sporting a bralet top that left very little to the imagination, also spoke about vomit.

The pair were talking about Justin Bieber’s recent onstage vomit sesh which went viral after a fan captured the spewy moment on camera, when Miley revealed that she’s been in the same situation.

Miley Cyrus has been gaining a lot of media attention lately for her engagement to actor Liam Hemsworth, her shocking slender figure, and her outrageous new haircut, but with all the apparent changes going on in Cyrus’ life, she has actually been hard at work in the studio for her upcoming album!

Backstage at the iHeartRadio Music festival, she told Billboard that she hopes to have a new single out by the end of the year and a new “sick” album out in early 2013.

Cyrus said:

“I’ve been in so many sessions and just kind of bunkering down and working really hard and perfecting everything. I’ve never really had time to do that, to kind of have my record kind of ‘done’ and then sit there and make it until it’s perfect. So, it’s been really, really fun. This whole year that’s all I really dedicated life to.”

Some collaborators that we may get to see on the new Miley album include Pharell Williams and hip-hop production duo Da Internz.

Cyrus’ record label status is a little unknown at the moment, but she did say she has been meeting with labels about releasing her new music, but right now she just wants to “make sure it’s exactly what I want first.”

Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Hudson are set to celebrate their first We Day at this year’s Toronto and Vancouver events! American Idol finalist and Academy and Grammy Award winner Jennifer Hudson is set to wow the crowd at Toronto’s We Day, taking place on Friday, September 28th at the Air Canada Centre.

It's sure that Long Shong Entertainment Multimedia Company has purchased So Undercover and confirmed to be in theater in Vieshow Cinema (威秀影城).The date that So Undercover will be in theater is January 11th 2013.

This is the Plot of So Undercover :
So Undercover (also known as I'm Like Sooo Undercover) is an upcoming action comedy film. The film was directed by Tom Vaughan and written by Allan Loeb. The screenplay is the work of Steven Pearl.


Molly Morris (Miley Cyrus) is a pretty sharp, street-smart, crass and tough private eye working in place for her Dad (Mike O'Malley) until he gets his job back. Molly receives a job offering from the FBI which gives her enough money to cover the money her Dad lost, and after being recruited, Molly has to go undercover to save a former mobster's daughter, Alex. She is forced to transform her personality to a non-vulgar, polite, sophisticated college sorority girl. Many scenes were shot on Tulane University's Uptown campus.
At the sorority sisters's house, Molly, as her undercover name as Brooke Stonebridge, has to investigate around the house and out of the house to get the information she needs about Alex (Lauren McKnight). Outside of the sorority sisters's house. Molly falls in love with charming, sweet, Nicolas (Joshua Bowman).

On Monday the entertainer shared several photos with her fans and ever one showed off her dogs.

Miley Cyrus has been known as a fashion starter, but her latest look has the fans scouring stores for a new type of a t-shirt. Called a back cut-out t-shirt or back cut-out tee, the shirt Miley Cyrus was seen wearing on Saturday wasn’t the typical back cut-out shirt which is why so many fans are interested interested in the fashion.

Basically looking like a simple shirt in front, the back had a cut-out length wise across her back that was hemmed and gave the shirt a very interesting look. Miley Cyrus will indeed be gracing the boob tube with her new ‘do, but it won’t be at the American Idol judge’s table.

After being approached earlier this summer as a possible replacement for Jennifer Lopez, Miley is no longer in the running for a vacant Idol judge’s spot.

Sources confirm exclusively to E! News that she was approached for the Idol gig, but talks never went far and Miley never seriously considered it.

But, disappointed fans can still get a dose of Miley on TV this fall! She has signed on for a guest role on Two and a Half Men for the upcoming season and continues to work on her first post-Disney album.

As for the latest in the American Idol shake-up? Sources confirm to E! News that Nicki Minaj is “definitely” joining the reality competition show. Mariah Carey is also confirmed as a judge for the upcoming season.

[News] Evan Rachel Wood joked Miley Cyrus

Evan Rachel Wood is taking some heat on Twitter after recently joking that Miley Cyrus may be “gay.”

Wood’s original tweet, which has since been deleted, suggested Cyrus’ new haircut fits in with her theory that the singer-actress might secretly be into women.

“I called it! Miley cyrus is leaning toward gay,” Wood tweeted after Cyrus debuted her new look earlier this month.

It seems many were not pleased with Wood’s comment, forcing the actress to clarify her remark on Thursday night, and insist that she was only joking.


“I myself am bisexual and have always ‘joked’ about miley giving me gay vibes. Not a bad thing! Just an observation,” Wood tweeted.

She continued, “So i ‘joked’ when she cut her hair that it supported my case. But, i am not so close minded or into stereotypes or labeling. It was a joke.”

Wood added that she “could care less what gender she was attracted to But dont hate me for supporting her in whatever She chooses. Its all fine by me.”

Cyrus herself doesn’t seem to be too bothered by the controversy, tweeting that Wood’s explanation was “well said!”

The starlet then added, “Let’s be friends.”

Miley Cyrus' rep has denied reports that the star's family are planning to stage an intervention.

US tabloid magazine Star claimed that the actress's friends and family are "seriously worried" she could be "the next Hollywood casualty".

The magazine cites “excessive weight loss”, “getting more tattoos, regularly smoking cigarettes and marijuana, living in filth and, of course, the infamous haircut” as the reasons behind the supposed intervention.

"Miley's become a completely different person," Star quoted a friend as saying. "Her new look and change in mentality make her almost unrecognisable to those who know her best.

"The family has actually been talking about an intervention for a while, but the haircut was the icing on the cake. The only conclusion they can come to for her erratic behaviour is that she's on drugs."

Cyrus's representative simply called the allegations "ridiculous".

The LOL star, who became engaged to Liam Hemsworth in June, recently defended her drastic new hairstyle.

Quick! Tell me what you know about Miley Cyrus. Chances are high that even if you never watched one minute of Hannah Montana, you know something about her, and that might be the thing to actually admire her for: She’s keeping herself in front of the media, and in our consciousness, by just living her robust 19-year-old celebrity life.

The teen merely got her hair cut and made headlines for days. She tweeted self-portraits, and the Internet blew up—not just the entertainment gossip sites like Perez Hilton, but also news sites like HuffPo and Washington Post. Questions were asked: Is she rebelling? Is she having a Britney breakdown?

Here in Philadelphia, Miley sightings are tweeted rapid fire while rumors abound. Her fiance, Liam Hemsworth, is in town shooting Paranoia (in case you’ve been asleep or at the beach for the past month), and those who have bumped into her walking her dog in Rittenhouse Square say she is a polite (and scarily skinny) teenager. I googled “Miley Cyrus and Philadelphia” and limited my search to the past 24 hours; I got 8,450 hits. I asked my 76-year-old father what he knew about her, and he said, “Isn’t she one of those girls who was a child star and is now famous for being a slut?” Close enough.

I am fascinated that she can keep up such a buzz when she has not done anything but keep up a buzz for so very long now. And wait, wasn’t one of the first post-Hannah Montana Miley “scandals” her getting her own buzz on?

There are three basic types of Miley-watchers. The smallest group might be her actual fans. These are girls who are between nine and 15 years old, and who grew up watching Hannah Montana. They remain loyal to her, even if they didn’t see her latest movie, LOL. (No one did. If you blinked in early May, you don’t even know it was released, despite Demi Moore playing the mother.) These fans still think Miley has cute clothes and, as my 12-year-old niece says, “She inspires people to be whatever they want to be and not be afraid of being themselves.”

Another group of Miley-watchers are her peers and those slightly older than her. This is a large group, as it consists of the girls (and boys) who are between 15 and 30 years old and who, for the most part, won’t admit having watched Hannah Montana (similar to Spice Girls Syndrome). They don’t read Tiger Beat or J-14 to keep up with Cyrus, but they don’t have to; entertainment and gossip sites and Facebook-trending articles cover her every move for them, without creating embarrassing Internet histories.

The largest group of Miley-watchers is the Hater Moms. These are mostly the mothers of the fan group, trickling upward to the peer group. They worry.

Miley, the girl who pretended to be someone else on stage so she could live a normal life, was a girl they allowed their daughters to idolize. They bought the Hannah Montana clothes, lunchboxes, sheets, DVDs, CDs, and even the Halloween costumes with long yellow hair. Miley said her Christian belief was the main thing that kept her grounded.

But then she got older and put on hot pants and practically pole danced in a music video. Pictures of her naked in a bathtub surfaced. Pictures of her naked in a bathtub were re-released, with Miley now stating that they were originally taken for Liam. She has multiple piercings and drinks far too much coffee.

While I’m not inspired by her tweets, or even sure that her engagement to Liam is not a publicity stunt for them both, I have more respect for Miley than her counterpart in celeb-social-media gossip, Kim Kardashian. Kardashian’s celebrity comes from somehow being a celebrity from the get-go, without really doing anything first. Miley may tweet selfies in see-through tops, but Kardashian is so desperate to remain in the public eye she released five-year-old, behind-the-scenes shots of her Playboy shoot.

Miley Cyrus has more than eight million Twitter followers, making her the number one teen celebrity on Twitter. Surprise! A few of my college-age students admit to following her “because it’s fun to be the first to know what she’s done next.” Her original fans follow her because they have to know. Hater Moms follow her to see what their daughters see; they don’t care that she posts inspirational tweets like, “You are not the momentary whim of a careless creator experimenting in the laboratory of life … You were made with a purpose.” Or sage advice like: “To love is to suffer. To avoid suffering one must not love. But then one suffers from not loving.” A-hem.

I’m watching Miley because so many young women close to me watch her. I have to admit that I respect how well she’s keeping her kite in the air. So, she’s engaged at 19, but at least she’s monogamous. I think her hair is adorable. I think everyone is going to keep watching.

[News] Borgore On Secret Work with Miley Cyrus; Shooting Decisions in September

Borgore’s “Decisions” has been out for about two months now, but the song got a major push when Miley Cyrus tweeted to the world this week that she was the female vocalist on the track. Her tweet caught even the Israeli dubstep DJ off guard.

“I had no idea she was gonna do it, but I’m happy that Miley likes surprises more than I do,” Borgore told Rolling Stone of the collaboration. “There was nothing to hide from my side, nor from her side. It’s super cool she did it the way she did it.”

Borgore says they kept silent about Cyrus’ involvement at first to give the track a fair shake. “Welcome to Borgore and Miley’s social experiment,” he said, laughing. “What we were trying to do is make a tune together that we’re super happy about and just see people’s real opinion about this.”


Now that it’s been revealed, he isn’t worried about any potential backlash. “If someone used to like the tune before he knew she was on it, and now he doesn’t like it just because she’s on it, he’s lying to himself,” Borgore said. “I think being nonconformist is being the biggest conformist.”

The DJ said he had no reservations about working with the pop star. “You have to understand that I grew up in Israel, and the whole ‘Hannah Montana’ thing, I’ve never seen it,” he says. “I’ve heard about this, but the Miley Cyrus persona you might have in America I don’t have.

“All I see is a super hot girl that has an amazing voice and is super fun to work with,” he said.

Once in the studio, he was impressed: “I thought she was made up more to be a star, but she was pretty phenomenal behind the booth.”

Borgore said the two will be filming a video for the track in September. After that, he is open to working with Cyrus again in the future. “I wouldn’t say no to working with Miley, ’cause I think she’s a great singer. I already proved she’s great for what I do, and if she fits in one of my next tunes and she will want to be part of it, I’ll be happy,” he said.

In the more immediate future, Borgore is relocating to Los Angeles in September and starting work on both an EP and an album. “I’m releasing an EP more for my close circle, my hardcore fans, which will be super dubstep-ish, full on,” he said. “At the same time I’m working on an album that will hopefully be out the beginning of next year. My first album needs to be special.”
